The five sessions were led by Suzanne Tietjen (Parliamentarian), Rev. Baldwin (LWML WY District Pastoral counselor), Terri Denniston (LWML WY District President), and Carrie Brumbaugh (LWML WY District-multiple rolls, and choir director)
We arrived on Friday late afternoon. What a wonderful time to greet and meet new friends and old and get settled in for a great retreat.
After a delicious taco meal served by Patty Pederson and crew, we studied Lesson 1 (Layered) with Suzanne, a long-time shepherd of a large flock of sheep in Illinois . Then, a break to get settled and have a snack. Scavenger hunt sheets were passed out for participants to find clues and get their brains engaged finding things around the property during breaks. Lesson 2: (Pieced)) with Rev. Baldwin. and Vespers closed out the evening.
Saturday morning, Sheila led a 6:00 sunrise morning walk about the property, discovering great views, and the three crosses with bench seating for reflection and quiet time to reflect and let go...... Sadly, it was overcast and did not have the Sun shine on our face at the beginning of the day.
Terri Denniston, WY District President led session 3 ((Beautifully Descriptive) on Saturday morning after a delicious breakfast served by Patty and her crew.
Morning break was putting together two quilts which Darci Boche will finish.
After break, Carrie Brumbaugh presented study four (Useful) a study of the Psalms in our hymns. Lunch was served, then it was time for Study five (Tied) led by Rev Baldwin, closings, and goodbyes..........
Saying goodbye to old friends, and new friends made was tough.
